The Sewing Sisters ministry is now in it's 13th year of creating hand-crafted fabric items for donation and mission support.
In addition to the now famous baptismal quilts presented to all who are baptized at St. Paul, the
Sewing Sisters make lap quilts, pillows, bibs and other items during meetings every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month.
To date they have contributed 30+ baptismal quilts, 625+ lap quilts, 40+ bibs, 2 queen-size quilts and many other small projects to help ministries in our area like TruLight127, The Children's Advocacy Center, and many local nursing homes.
For more information about this ministry reach out to Bonnie Nichols, Ann Stratemann or the church office.
In early 2019, St. Paul member, Jason Bratton, was undergoing chemotherapy. His wife Lindsay accompanied him to his appointments. An empty box in the corner labeled "Free chemo hats" haunted her. Back at home, she sent Susan Lowe, another St. Paul member and known crocheter, an urgent text: "We need to talk!"
Thus began St. Paul's Chemo Hat Ministry. St. Paul members, nonmembers and Sewing Sisters alike
have contributed hand crafted hats in all sizes, shapes and colors.
The hats are washed, tagged and distributed not only locally, but throughout the state.
In 2019, 314 hats were donated.
Donations and additional "hands" are always welcome in this ministry.
